The full-back seemed to ease his way back into action effortlessly after a fortnight's break with a groin injury but went down with 66 minutes on the clock.
Thankfully though the problem was cramp, something he's had before, and he expects to be available for Sunday's Premiership trip to Blackburn Rovers.
"I'm fine," he said. "I've trained very little for a couple of weeks and I got cramps, which I often get, unfortunately, but I wasn't expecting to be involved and it was nice to be out there again. I should be okay for Sunday. I feel alright. I'm in no pain so I'm happy about that."
Tano's return alongside Steffen Freund certainly added more balance to the team with Simon Davies able to push back into midfield.
He added: "It was nice to be back. The lads were disappointed after Saturday and Cardiff looked to play but we kept good shape, looked solid and we had a lot of chances.
"We could have scored a few more to be honest but we're through and that's what we wanted."
Were the lads determined to go one further in the competition this season? "We want to win every game," he added. "We've done quite well in the competition for the last couple of years and hopefully that will continue this season."
Mauricio Taricco was relieved to report nothing more than cramp after departing early from Tuesday night's win against Cardiff City.
