Mauricio Taricco says David Beckham's leadership qualities and mental strength are just as important as his footballing abilities to England at the World Cup.
Beckham, of course, has been concentrating on a return to fitness since he was cut down playing for Manchester United against Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions League quarter-finals back in April.
So much has Beckham grown into the England captaincy, Taricco feels that his leadership is almost as vital as his pin-point crosses from the right.
"I would say Beckham is very important in a mental sense now," reasoned Tano.
"He's a good footballer, but I think, mentally, when he is in the team he is, you know, in charge - it looks like it."
Our wing-back hopes Beckham is back playing and looks forward to seeing him in action against Argentina.
"So I think for England it would be great if he can be fit and playing.
"I hope he plays and it will be interesting to watch Argentina and England."
