LIVERPOOL'S clash against Chelsea was a great advert for the Premiership, especially for those who like to watch the game abroad like our friends in South Africa.
Chelsea were very good and look like they will be a real threat but Liverpool's hand will certainly be strengthened on the ball by the arrival of Harry Kewell and Steve Finnan.
They've been accused by numerous people who like an opinion that they haven't enough flair or passing ability from the back.
What they have had at the back in the last few years is a wonderfully tough central pairing in Sami Hyypia and Stephane Henchoz. They have been terrific defensively.
When they won the clutch of tropies Gary McAllister had that golden swansong, but now Danny Murphy has emerged, no doubt about that.
They will hope that Emile Heskey has a big season. They have alternatives of course in Baros and Diouf, but Owen needs a partner - someone to join in and get good co-ordination.
I think Harry Kewell will have to play wide. He will give them a problem they don't need playing as a second striker. He has to be relied on to do his work wide and go past people.
