The defender played the first three games of Sweden's Euro 2004 finals campaign before having to sit it out through suspension as his side went out on penalties against Holland.
Now he's back on the World Cup trail as Sweden open their qualifying group against Malta on Saturday and Croatia next week.
"We want to be there for the fourth time in a row in a major championship," declared the full-back.
"Malta we should win against, everyone knows that and we then play Croatia at home and you have to pick points up at home.
"But we know it will be tough against Croatia. We all know international football is very tough.
"I haven't bee around that long but I know Croatia are one of the big teams and that will be a hard game."
Erik Edman is determined to help Sweden to a fourth major championship in a row.
