Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Goalscorer John Sutton hailed a 'tremendous result for the team' after our Academy side overcame Blackburn 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup.

Sutton and Lee Barnard netted the goals on the night at White Hart Lane that secured a passage to a semi-final clash with Everton.

"It was a tremendous result for the team," beamed John. "It was a very difficult game - they knocked Arsenal out in the last round 2-0 away.

"So we knew it would be tough, but we have come through with flying colours."

Swirling rain and an imperfect pitch made conditions tricky on the night and the boys needed to concentrate from start to finish to ensure a positive outcome. John says that clinical finishing was the difference between the sides.

"There wasn't a lot of football played, but the result was the important thing. They had a couple of half chances and we did too. We took ours and they didn't - that was the difference on the night."

The striker paid tribute to the defensive quality in the team that has been the cornerstone of Youth Cup progress this campaign.

"Our defence have been excellent this season. So it gives us confidence up front that if we can get one or two we are going to win the game.

"The most important thing is not to concede because when you score one you are well on your way to victory."

And on his sweetly headed goal on 65 minutes...

"I was really pleased with that. It was a great ball in by Dean Marney with a lot of pace and width and it just hit me perfectly. As soon as it hit my head I knew it was going in - it was a great feeling."
