Supporting Michael’s brave battle

Today we welcomed to the Lane a group of special visitors who are on an epic journey around every Premier League ground in the country.

The gruelling bike ride that the group are taking on is being led by Thomas Bold, whose 13-year-old brother Michael is bravely fighting Burkitts Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

Michael is a budding footballer who was on the Club’s books for a spell in the Under-8 age group before being diagnosed with the condition in June, 2016, and admitted to the Royal Marsden Hospital where he is undergoing chemotherapy.

Football fanatic Michael set his brother and family friends the challenge of taking on the ride in order to raise money for equipment at the Royal Marsden to help others in his position.

The journey began at Goodison Park, home of Michael’s beloved Everton, and will finish in his home town of Crawley tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, December 17), with signed merchandise being collected from all Clubs along the way to raise money.

We congratulate the #Cycle4Michael riders on their efforts. CLICK HERE to visit their fundraising page or follow them on Twitter @Cycle4M
