- We had 22 shots at the Stadium of Light to Sunderland's 11, with 13 on target.

- Possession was close - 53-47 in our favour.

- Jermain Defoe had six shots on goal and 96 per cent passing accuracy.

- Paulinho had five shots from midfield, including three on target.

- We have won the last three PL meetings v Sunderland - we last did that as part of a five-match winning run from May, 2000 to March, 2002.

- We have now won five matches in the PL era from losing positions against the Black Cats (one home, three away).

- We have gained 16 points in total from losing positions with 13 of those coming at Sunderland. We did that last year as goals from Aaron Lennon and a Carlos Cuellar own goal cancelled out John O'Shea's opener and in 2011, when Asamoah Gyan put the Black Cats ahead before goals from Michael Dawson and Niko Kranjcar won the match for us.

- We have won more PL points than any other side when we’ve been drawing at half-time this season (20 points).

- We've only lost four of our last 19 away PL matches and scored in 25 of the last 29.

- We remain unbeaten in all competitions this season when we've scored - 16 wins, three draws and eight wins, two draws in the PL.

- We've only lost six of the last 42 PL matches Michael Dawson has started.

- Aaron Lennon still hasn't lost at the Stadium of Light - six matches.

- Paulinho has started all 15 PL matches this season.

- All four of Paulinho's goals for us have been scored in away wins in all three competitions - PL, Capital One Cup and Europa League.
