Sunday games

Posted on 10 March 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We apologise to supporters for the fact that our Premiership game with Liverpool has been moved to this Sunday — and in general for our many Sunday games this season.

The Liverpool match was moved back a day due to the Anfield club reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup. They play at Celtic on Thursday. Under FAPL rules, Liverpool had the right to move the game against us to the Sunday and so that decision was completely out of our control.

With the complex combination of Sky TV, Premier League, European fixtures and international weeks, added to the FA and Worthington Cups, this creates a great deal of complication when arranging fixtures. As a result these are not always ideal for the Club or our fans and can be changed at relatively short notice.

However, we will be raising the issue of the number of our games that have been moved to Sundays with the Premier League to try to ensure that it does not happen so often next season.

Once again we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
