And that was certainly the case in The Bahamas on Thursday as a number of fans from the USA flew across to watch our 0-0 draw against Jamaica.
The Club has seen a surge of support in America recently and several supporters clubs were represented in the Caribbean at an event where they met with club captain Michael Dawson and Assistant Head Coach Steffen Freund.
Our NY Spurs branch turned out in good numbers, including Tony and baby boy Alen, who was of course kitted out in Spurs gear.
"We heard that Spurs were going to be playing and it was a good chance to take the little one on his first international trip and support the team in the process!", Tony told tottenhamhotspur.com.
"I think Alen's first words will be 'come on you Spurs!' and we're also hoping he might emulate a certain left winger."
And he urged other supporters in the USA to join their local branch and support the team from across the Atlantic.
"Definitely do so. It's a good chance to support the club, let everybody know what you care about and it's easy to do."
David Judge and Athena Ledakis, also from NY Spurs, were excited to be in The Bahamas and watch the team in action live for the final time this season.
"The chance to come and see Tottenham in The Bahamas was too good to turn down. Sun, sea, sand and Spurs… what more could you ask for?" said Dave, chairman of NY Spurs.
"If there are any fans thinking about joining a supporters group, get involved. Whether it's at 7.45am - or 5am for the LA guys! - you're going to have a good time watching games and meeting a lot of people from around the world."
Jeff Ellis from Austin, Texas, was also in attendance for the game and told us his story of how he became a fan.
"I was in a pub in south London in 2008 and it was the Carling Cup semi-final against Arsenal. We won 5-1 and the energy in the pub was amazing. That was it for me, I was hooked.
"I watch all the games at 'Mister Tramps' in Austin, Texas, and we have 50 members who turn up pretty regularly. We get up anywhere between 6am and midday and the atmosphere is always amazing."
