Sully back as reserves kick-off

Posted on 12 August 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Neil Sullivan returns to action as our reserve team kick-off their league campaign at Leicester City tonight.

The goalkeeper has been out with a shoulder problem since the friendly against Wycombe but returns for the FA Premier Reserve League encounter at the Walkers Stadium.

Colin Calderwood admits he can't wait for the real thing after taking his young squad through a busy pre-season schedule.

He said: "The group has a good understanding but now they are up against a team who has had the same amount of training as us at a professional level, so it becomes a proper test. This is where the job really starts.

"It's a very attractive fixture at the Walkers Stadium. I was up there when they played Barcelona on Friday and the reserve team manager said in his programme column that he would have a stronger reserve side than last season.

"So we could come up against a strong team but as I've said to the lads, they are at a stage where we're looking for them not to just compete with but beat these teams.

"They have to be bang in the game and looking for a victory."

Squad: Sullivan, Marney, Doherty, Perry, Kelly, Galbraith, Hughes, Jackson, Slabber, Barnard, Acimovic, Henry, O'Donoghue, Burch, McKie, Barnett.
