Neil, solid as a rock in difficult conditions, produced two wonder saves in the frantic, final five minutes to deny Frederic Kanoute and Frank Lampard and book our place against Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Modest as ever and clutching the man-of-the-match champagne, the Scottish international insisted: “You want to be successful and to be fair, everyone played their part. Everyone was superb.
“The midfield worked exceptionally well against their midfield it was backs against the wall defending and I thought we were fantastic.
“We defended well, cleared our lines well and the lads up front were brilliant as well. Les had a real battle and Sergei took his goals well.”
As for his injury time save from Lampard’s header, Neil added: “I saw it late and Stephen Clemence told me he would have cleared it anyway, perhaps he was after that glory.
“That was typical of how we defended and if you look at the game, I think we deserved to go through.
“It was in many ways a great cup tie. It had everything. Goals, chances and the atmosphere was brilliant. We battled well and got through in the end.”

Hero Neil Sullivan was only too happy to deflect attention away from his man-of-the-match performance at West Ham and onto his team-mates.
