Tottenham Hotspur Football Development’s elite football coaching programme in partnership with Turnford College has gone from strength to strength in its first year, with both the Year 8 and Year 12 squads reaching Cup finals in their respective age groups.

The Year 8 squad beat Leventorpe 9-0 in the semi-final of the Lea Valley District Cup. The final is today (Wednesday March 30) at Sele School in Hertford – 4.00pm kick off.

Meanwhile, the Year 12 squad beat Kingston University 1-0 in the Semi-Final of the SESSA League Intermediate Cup. The final will be played on Wednesday April 6 at Ford Ground in Essex – 2.00pm kick off.

The partnership with Turnford College sees coaches from our Academy-trained Football Development staff deliver BTEC and NVQ Level 3 courses to Sixth Form students, as well as an Elite Player Development Programme to Year 7/8 students.

The Sixth Form model is run over two years (72 weeks) with up to 25 students studying 12 hours per week with the opportunity to achieve FA Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications.

Meanwhile, the Elite Player Development programme sees 18 Year 7 and 18 Year 8 students train nine hours per week with our Football Development Coaches, with the opportunity to participate in trial and selection days at the Club under a player analysis and assessment scheme.
