THE SQUAD had a light training session - a 'loosener' - in the rain in Bremen on Tuesday morning.
They were out for about an hour during which they had a light jog, plenty of stretches, light ball work and then plenty more stretches ahead of tonight's Champions League opener against Werder Bremen.
The highlight without question though was when coach Clive Allen joined in the ball work.
The lads had split into two groups for their usual 'piggy-in-the-middle' exercise, designed for quick feet, quick passing and keeping possession.
You usually get one or two players in the middle of about nine or 10 and they chase and chase until they intercept a pass or a pass goes outside the ring.
Clive found himself in the ring - and he was stuck in there for some time.
Seconds seem like hours when the ball is fizzing around you and Clive's head was spinning as the rest of his group cracked up.
"That was like 90 minutes for me," gasped Clive with a smile afterwards. "That's my game for the day!
"It's always great fun and I'm sure the lads enjoy getting me in there - they love the banter."
