The Head Coach admits that it is too early to tell whether or not all the players will be at optimum fitness following the Kappa Cup trip to Seville, but says he would like to get close to the side he is likely to field against Liverpool in the Premiership opener next week.
"I don't know right now, but this match is very important to prepare for the game against Liverpool," said Jacques after the Partizan encounter.
"I hope to play my best team, but I can't say for sure right now. It is very important to win this game."
Meanwhile, Jacques praised the contribution of the young players in the second Kappa Cup game, players that have benefited from the need to juggle the team over a busy pre-season schedule.
The performance of Philip Ifil at right-back caught the eye and Jacques feels he will be one to watch in the future.
"It was a good game considering it was just two days after the first one, in very hot weather. It was a good performance from the young players.
"When you play many matches it is always difficult to play the same players all the time.
"Philip is a young player and it would be difficult for him to play many games in the next season. He is not ready for a long season yet, but is a good one for the future.
"I can't look too far into the future at the moment because now is very important."
Feyenoord won the Kappa Cup - they beat Real Betis 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Jacques Santini reports that, fitness permitting, he hopes to field his strongest line-up against Cagliari on Saturday.
