Playing our first home match of the new campaign, Eric Dier scored for the first time since the second match of last season when he nodded home Christian Eriksen's corner, before Nacer Chadli volleyed in Ben Davies' cross to double our lead on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors stormed back in the closing stages, however, with Marko Arnautovic netting from the penalty spot on 78 minutes after Toby Alderweireld was adjudged to have fouled Stoke substitute Joselu.
Mame Biram Diouf then headed home seven minutes from time to secure a share of the spoils for his side.
