Ben Davies described tomorrow’s (Saturday, August 15) return to the Lane against Stoke as a ‘big day’ for everyone.

And the full-back who impressed in the season opener at Old Trafford has underlined the importance of home form in the Premier League.

“Home form is massive now in the Premier League because every team is capable of picking up results,” he said. “We need to get points at home and use our fans to our advantage.”

Ben joined the chorus of approval for our travelling fans at Old Trafford last weekend and hopes to tap into that noise when we step out at the Lane for the first time in three months tomorrow.

“The fans are superb for us and you saw that at United last week, the fans who made the journey up there were superb,” he added.

“It really gave us a lift when we conceded to hear that support, getting us up and keeping us going. That was a massive boost.

“Hopefully they’ll bring that atmosphere back to the Lane and make some noise tomorrow.”

Stoke had a familiar story to us on opening weekend as they gave as good as they got against Liverpool but fell to a moment of magic from Philippe Coutinho.

“They have improved over the summer, they’ve bought well and we’ll come up against some good players,” said Ben. “We’ll have to be right on our game if we’re going to get something out if it.”
