It was our striker’s first 90 minutes since returning from a knee injury earlier in the month, and he was desperate to mark it with a goal.
But now Darren is hoping he will make it the perfect 100 at Wembley on Sunday and put memories of his last trip to the stadium out of his mind.
He said: "It had been a long time since I last got 90 minutes under my belt so it felt good.
“I’ve been on 99 goals for a while, so hitting the bar twice is a bit frustrating, but hopefully one drops in on Sunday.
“Sunday will be a different kettle of fish because we all know what Chelsea are about, but we can beat anyone on our day.
“The first time I ever played at Wembley was with England when we lost to Croatia, so those are bad memories I’ll be looking to erase on Sunday.”
The Spurs Megastore, along with the outlets in Harlow and Enfield, will be open from 8am to 12.30pm on Sunday so you can get kitted out for Wembley!
Darren Bent was left frustrated after hitting the bar twice last night - leaving him still just one goal off his career century!
