Still going strong

Alan Hutton is hopeful our goal-less draw at home to Manchester United on Sunday will not halt our progress at the top of the Premier League table this season.

The right-back admits the team were disappointed not to beat the league leaders at the Lane, especially after the visitors went down to 10 men in the second half.

But Alan accepts United remain unbeaten in the league this season for a good reason and is confident we are still in the hunt at the top having lost just once in 14 games.

He said: “We really wanted the three points but picking up a point against one of the best teams in the league, you can’t really grumble about that.

”We’re not too far out of touch. We just need to put a run together and see what happens.

”We have done really well recently and we don’t fear any team. To get a draw at home is slightly disappointing but we’ll still take the point.”

Overall, Alan is looking forward to what promises to be a thrilling remainder of the campaign with plenty still at stake.

He added: “The league is so strong this year, all teams are taking points off each other so we’ll have to wait and see.

“Even below us, you have to look at the likes of Blackpool, they are flying high, taking points off a lot of big teams. It’s going to be interesting.”
