Our skipper and longest-serving player insists the squad will give everything to finish in the top four of the Premier League and therefore qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The players were disconsolate after the 5-1 loss against Chelsea but Ledley, William Gallas and Carlo Cudicini – who all spoke to Spurs TV Online straight after the loss – reflected the determination to now finish the job in the Premier League.
We sit fourth in the table with five games remaining, starting with a trip to QPR on Saturday.
We then face Blackburn at home on April 29, travel to Bolton on Wednesday, May 2 and then go to Villa on Sunday, May 6 before the finale at home to Fulham on Sunday, May 13.
“It’s about sticking together in the remainder of the games and making sure we get into the top four,” said Ledley.
“It’s imperative we strive to do that between now and the end of the season. We need to work hard and that’s what it’s all about now - working hard and sticking together. If we do that we’ve got a chance.”
Ledley described Sunday’s loss as a ‘massive disappointment’.
“It’s not just losing the semi-final, but the manner of the defeat,” he added.
“It’s a cruel blow for us having come all this way and playing in this fantastic stadium, all we wanted to do was to win the game and come back for the FA Cup Final, but it’s not to be.”
