Steve's stepping stones

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Stephen Carr believes the clean sheets at Coventry and Manchester City can be a stepping stone - adding that we have to learn to soak up pressure like we did at City on Sunday.

After shipping 11 goals in three games in the Premiership, we stuck to the task at City and rode our luck in the goalless draw with Kasey Keller outstanding.

"The clean sheets will be good for us," said temporary skipper Steve at Spurs Lodge. "I know we got a bit of luck at City but that happens in football.

"I'd rather that than we dominate them and they nick one.

"It's good to pick up points away from home, it could be an important point and we'll take it.

"Many a great team have soaked up pressure and caught a team on the counter or held out for a draw. We have to learn to do that.

"Obviously we don't want the keeper to be under that much pressure, Kasey had a great game and we knew that coming off the pitch.

"You need that sometimes though. Hopefully we can turn the corner and continue against Everton on Saturday."
