One of the greatest players in our history, Steve enjoyed a playing career that lasted almost 17 years with us and holds the record for most League appearances with 655 games in a Spurs shirt.
Steve said: "The FA Vase is a fantastic competition - it puts non-league clubs on a different level. It’s a long season for these teams, but they have reached The Final and it’s a great achievement - they should be proud.
"I’m sure it’s going to be a very exciting and competitive game."
In a glittering career Steve won a whole host of medals with us including two League Cups, two UEFA Cups and two FA Cups alongside the honour of the Football Writers’ Player of the Year in 1982.
Steve, who is now Director of Football at Exeter City, offered some words of advice to both teams ahead of the final.
He said: "It’s always fantastic to get to a final - however, it’s really important on the day that both teams don’t panic and play as they always do - the last step is usually the toughest!
"Spurs is a wonderful stadium - the place has a special aura. I’d like to wish both teams the best of luck and my advice would be just to enjoy the game and the experience of playing at White Hart Lane."
The legendary Steve Perryman will be The FA’s Chief Guest at the final of The FA Vase, in partnership with Carlsberg, which takes place at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
