The Frenchman began training at Spurs Lodge on Monday and has just under two weeks to prepare for a possible debut against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a week on Saturday.
John feels that the recruit from Italian outfit Inter Milan will add to the excitement-factor when he takes to the field in Spurs colours.
"Stephane Dalmat trained with us for the first time on Monday - he is a very good talent and should be an exciting player for the club," predicted John.
"He played in the Champions' League last year and is a very good player who can play anywhere in the midfield, but his main position is in the middle.
"The fans will see a very talented player who has got a little bit of everything. He is also a player good with both feet which is very good to have."
John added that Glenn is now blessed with a number of midfield alternatives that should create some good competition for places.
"It increases our options, you know what we've been like with midfielders in the past with players being out. At the minute we've got an abundance of them and that can only be healthy - they will be putting pressure on each other and hopefully that will help us."
John Gorman says that new loan signing Stephane Dalmat can operate in any midfield position.
