It started with a serious leg injury on international duty back in September and despite a couple of fleeting comebacks, has continued right up until a substitute appearance against Charlton three weeks ago.
He's since started three games, scored twice and is now desperate to see out the season and to be raring to go next time around.
"It's just great to be back out there," said Steffen. "For me, it's like the beginning of the season but, of course, it's the end.
"I just want to get through the rest of the games and score in every one, if I can. I want to get through them, stay fit and be ready for next season.
"We have a couple of internationals with Norway at the end of the season, we'll train a bit in the summer and I'll be ready for next season."
Steffen agreed that Monday's victory against Leeds was one of the best of the season at the Lane.
He added: "We got a draw against Arsenal and should have done better against Manchester United and Chelsea.
"We know what we can do. We know we can score goals and that game showed we can defend as well. It's looking good for the rest of the season."
Steffen Iversen says he feels like the season has just started. Our Norwegian hitman certainly wishes that was the case after another injury-hit campaign.
