It is hard to find the right words to sum up how disappointed we all were after losing against Chelsea on Sunday.
If you look at the game we deserved a point at least. We were going forward all the time to try to score and if you look at the second half in-particularly we have to be very disappointed.
It was my feeling that the penalty was the key point because we had come back well after going 1-0 down and that goal was important for us.
At 1-1 I thought we would beat Chelsea. We gave them a lot of pressure but then they scored with that penalty. I didn’t think it was a penalty but it was the referee’s decision. I tried to change his mind but it was disappointing because I felt on the pitch if we went 2-1 down it would be hard to come back.
But we managed to come back, scored the second goal and if you have one point in your hand, 11 against 10, then you don’t give them a chance to score again. In the end, well, as I said, I can’t find the right words to describe it.
Now we have another injury because Goran has damaged his cheekbone. Maybe we will have to stop talking about injuries because we will only go and pick up another on Wednesday.
That seems to be part of Tottenham at the moment. I’ve been here nearly three years and I cannot believe our bad luck.
Everyone is fighting hard but Gary and Goran have picked up injuries and we only seem to pick up bad injuries, five, six weeks all the time.
It is unbelievable and brings you down a little because to have success you need a full squad.
We have to look forward though. The positive thing was how we came back against Chelsea. We always tried to score and that showed a lot of character even after going down, to keep going forward and trying to score goals.
Hopefully we can play the same way at Sunderland and this time get the rewards we deserve.
