Assistant Head Coach Steffen pointed to the positive attitude of the players as the squad builds to their first friendlies at Swindon (Tuesday, July 16) and Colchester (July 19) next week.
“We’re back at the Training Centre and it’s fantastic,” said Steffen. “It’s great to train here, really enjoyable for everyone.
“We’ve had eight sessions so far (Monday-Thursday), it’s been really hard for the players and it’s like a training camp, but really enjoyable.
“The first and second week we training twice a day and we try to prepare everyone for the friendlies against Swindon and Colchester, difficult games, to play 45 minutes or 60 minutes and then be ready for Hong Kong.
“Everyone is positive and it’s great to see. They’ve all had a holiday, enjoyed their time with their families and that’s why everyone returns with a smile.
“Now it’s hard work, but they all have the right attitude and that’s great to see as a coach.”
