Steffen Freund sees tonight’s pre-season friendly at Swindon Town as the ideal test for the squad.

We take on the Robins at the County Ground, kicking-off at 7pm.

The Wiltshire club finished sixth in League One last season but lost out to Brentford in the play-off semi-finals.

“For a start, Swindon will want to beat us, I’m sure the stadium will be sold-out and it will be a difficult game,” said Steffen, our Assistant Head Coach.

“They will fight hard against us and these are the games we need now.

“I remember we played Stevenage this time last season, we beat them 2-0 with a solid performance and that’s what we want again.

“I’m sure Andre will start to look to give players 60 minutes, perhaps more and that’s why it will be a tough week because we also play on Friday and then we fly out to Hong Kong.”

We take on Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Friday night before departing for Hong Kong and the Barclays Asia Trophy, where we face Sunderland on Wednesday, July 24 and then either Manchester City or South China FC on Saturday, July 27.
