AGREEMENT WITH ABRIDGE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB AND PROPOSED OPTIONS TO PURCHASE LAND
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (THFC) and Abridge Golf & Country Club (Abridge) today confirmed that they have reached an agreement on both a mutually beneficial association between the two clubs and the acquisition by THFC of options to purchase land adjacent to the Golf Club, for the development of a new football training centre.
The agreement is subject to the approval by members at the forthcoming Abridge EGM on 9th May 2002.
Daniel Levy, Chairman THFC, said: “Both agreements are conditional upon obtaining detailed planning permission. We are hopeful that we have found an ideal location for a state-of-the-art, world class facility that will support all of our future Academy requirements. Our long-term strategy is to focus on the development of home grown talent and to build on the success of our young players, in order to gain a more competitive edge in the coming years.”
The board of Abridge has indicated that it will be unanimously recommending the proposals to its members.
