The keeper that always seems to save his best for Spurs has been in outstanding form all term and, but for the form of Newcastle's Shay Given, might have been pushing for Ireland's number one jersey for this summer's World Cup.
Hans, who keeps a close eye on the Premiership keepers, reported: "I've seen him quite a few times this season and he's very steady and I rate him very highly.
"He made a great move from the First Division to the Premier League and I thought at first he might have a few problems but he's proved everyone wrong. He's a very confident goalkeeper and very consistent.
"He is a tremendous shot stopper but his strength is his consistency and that is the most important thing for a goalkeeper, consistency week in, week out.
"He has a very good kick as well, a great left foot and he will come for high balls as well. He's not afraid to come out and pinch one or two."
Despite that praise, Hans rates Given just in front of Kiely in terms of the Irish spot.
Hans added: "Shay Given has had his best season for a long time, the best I've seen him play. They have good competition between them but Shay would come out on top at the moment."
Dean Kiely has caught the eye of our goalkeeping coach Hans Segers this season.
