Squad looks healthy for Highbury

Posted on 14 November 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle has only three players out of contention for Saturday's big Premiership derby as both Christian Ziege and Ledley King come back into the frame for Highbury.

Christian played the first half of our reserve team's victory against Leicester City on Monday having been out for eight weeks with a calf problem.

Ledley, who has yet to feature in the first team this season due to a hip problem, played the full 90 minutes of that match at the Lane.

"It was good to see Christian and Ledley get games under their belts," Glenn reported at Spurs Lodge this afternoon. "They've both been out for a while, Ledley a very long time and Christian has only had 45 minutes in six weeks.

"It's great to seem them back but whether or not they are ready for such a big game, we'll have to wait and see. It's nice to have them available."

The missing trio are long-term victim Neil Sullivan, still out with a broken thumb, Mauricio Taricco (groin) and Anthony Gardner, who picked up a knock at Burnley last week.

Otherwise the only doubts are surrounding the match fitness of players returning from injury.

As well as Christian and Ledley, Les Ferdinand and Matthew Etherington have both returned to training following back and ankle problems respectively.

Glenn added: "We've only really got Tano, Anthony Gardner and Neil Sullivan out injured as such.

"Matty has recovered a little from his ankle, still a bit tenderness there and Les had had a slight back problem but has been out running today and we'll see how that shapes up. Apart from that everyone is relatively healthy."

Look out for more from Glenn on the big one tomorrow...
