Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The Republic of Ireland were held to a 1-1 draw by Russia at Lansdowne Road this afternoon.

Seeking to avenge an earlier 4-2 defeat in Euro 2004 qualification, an Ireland side coached by Chris Hughton and featuring Stephen Carr, took a first half lead through Damien Duff but failed to hang on to the advantage. Gary Doherty was a second half substitute for Ireland.

No Spurs connections, but England remain on course for qualification after a 2-1 win in Macedonia. They fell behind to a first half goal from Hristov before Wayne Rooney became England's youngest ever scorer with his second half equaliser. David Beckham netted the winner from the penalty spot.

Wales suffered a 4-0 defeat at the San Siro against Italy - four goals in 17 second half minutes sealing their fate on the night. Inzaghi scored an 11-minute hat-trick before Simon Davies, playing at right-back, conceded a penalty that was converted by Del Piero.
