Spurs 3-0 AFC Wimbledon - reaction from Wembley

Sun 07 January 2018, 18:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Reaction direct from the dressing room after our 3-0 win against AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium. connected by EE, on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino
"It's so difficult to play in the FA Cup, so tough and AFC Wimbledon played so well. They created a few chances. It was a solid performance from us but full credit to them because they tried to play, they were strong and it was difficult to beat them. In the end, our performance was good and we deserved to beat them but it was a tough game. For youngsters like Kyle (Walker-Peters) and Juan (Foyth) they are learning and improving and it's so important for them ti play this type of game to get more experience."

Jan Vertonghen
"I had a bit of luck with the shot because it took a slight deflection but yes, it was a nice goal. I've had a couple of goals taken off me (since he last scored in October 2013) and I've been in the position a couple of times and been unlucky so I tried from a bit more distance. I'm happy to score a goal again."

Harry Kane
"It was one of those games where the first goal was so important. They defended well in the first half, we had a few chances where we might have done better but once we got the first and the second so quickly afterwards that killed the game. Credit to AFC Wimbledon, they did well. It was important just to get that win and get into the next round."

Kyle Walker-Peters
"I'm delighted to play, especially in a big tournament like the FA Cup and I'm obviously extremely happy to get the win. It's an historic tournament so I feel privileged and honoured to play in it. Watching it as a kid, coming to grounds to see Tottenham play in it a couple of times was very good and it's very nice now to be playing in it. I'm buzzing for Jan. He was saying that he hasn't scored for so long, so he's happy. I was happy to be on the pitch at the same time!"
