For 10-year-old Orlando fan Zachary Parker, today was a day that will live long in the memory.

What started out as an already exciting occasion for any youngster visiting the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Florida, turned into something that would have been beyond his wildest dreams.

You see, it’s not been an easy time for Zachary. His father, Jay, a member of our Orlando Spurs Supporters’ Club, serves the US Government overseas in Pakistan, and as a result does not get to spend a lot of time with his son.

One of their main ways of keeping in touch is by watching Spurs games together over Skype, and Jay attributes their mutual love of the Club as one of the key reasons the special bond with his son has been maintained despite the distance between them.

The Government provide medals to children of staff serving overseas as a way of recognising the difficulty they go through in spending time away from one of their parents.

The Club heard the story and decided that Zachary deserved to receive this medal in a magical way befitting of our Disney World base.

Zachary thought that he was about to enjoy a day in the iconic Magic Kingdom with his mother before getting the surprise of his life.

Out of nowhere appeared four of his heroes - Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Harry Winks - to present him with his well-earned medal, while his Dad was able to watch the moment all the way from Pakistan via FaceTime.

And just when Zachary thought things couldn’t get any better, the players accompanied him on the park’s famous Big Thunder Mountain ride for a photo opportunity that will be cherished for years to come.

No visit to the Magic Kingdom is complete without a meeting with Mickey – and before leaving the Park, the lads had a kickaround with the world’s most famous Mouse, drawing quite a crowd of excited tourists.
