The 19-year-old marked his fourth cap and first start with a stunning 25-yarder beyond his Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris into the top corner to fire the Three Lions into the lead on 39 minutes.
Dele began that move himself by winning a 50-50 and he did the same for England's second goal, winning possession before releasing Raheem Sterling down the left. On this occasion, the City winger crossed for Wayne Rooney to make it 2-0.
Dele was joined in the starting line-up by Eric Dier - also making his first senior start - and Harry Kane while Hugo captained France.
It was a Man of the Match display from Dele, much to the delight of his team-mates who spoke exclusively to us in the mixed zone at Wembley.
"We’ve both enjoyed ourselves recently, playing game after game and it was great to play alongside Dele again here," said Eric. "Hopefully we’ll keep playing and keep performing.
"He’s doing so well. He’s on a great wave at the moment and can’t do anything wrong. Hopefully he’ll keep doing it and I’m delighted for him because he’s a great lad, his feet are on the ground and he deserves everything he gets."

Harry, who went close a couple of times, added: "It was an incredible goal and I’m buzzing for him. He fully deserves it.
"He’s been great for the club this season and now he’s doing it for England as well. What a strike! We’re all delighted for him. He works so hard and the rewards are coming his way.
"I just told him beforehand to keep doing what he’s been doing all season at Spurs, to go out there and enjoy it, to show everyone what he can do and he did that. He was outstanding."
