Spurs support Sport Relief

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We are delighted that we were able to give our support to BBC Sport Relief 2004.

The first team squad recently each sported a single red sock on for a special Blue Peter feature promoting the cause.

Sport Relief 2004 has the goal of raising millions of pounds for charity and the focus of this year's campaign is the Fitness First Sport Relief Mile, a series of simultaneous events staged nationwide in a bid to break the world record for participation in a single event.

The boys were doing their bit to highlight the initiative and were joined in training by Blue Peter presenter Simon Thomas in front of the BBC cameras.

"It is a great cause and all to do with sport," said skipper Jamie Redknapp. "It was a good half an hour, Simon from Blue Peter was out there showing his skills to the boys - it was quite interesting.

"It is about getting sponsored and raising money for charity through sport. It is all good and will help people get fit as well, which is as important as anything."
