Spurs on the move?

Posted on 4 July 2000  - 12:00

English Barclays Premiership

Transfer deals could be hotting up at White Hart Lane. We've had enquiries about two players - but still nothing concrete concerning Allan Nielsen.

The developments come at a time when there is still no news about the possible departure of David Ginola. Director of Football David Pleat says the club has heard nothing recently from Aston Villa so he's assuming their interest in the player has waned.

Ruel Fox could be the first to leave the club. We have had tentative enquiries from two Nationwide First Division clubs but, for the moment, they are not being identified.

"We have told Ruel that we are prepared to sell him for the right price," said Pleat.

He also said we have had an approach from a newly promoted Dutch club for reserve Neil Fenn and would be talking to him when he returns from holiday.

Allan Nielsen, who was out on loan last season, phoned White Hart Lane on Tuesday while on holiday in Nice. He'd been hoping that his performances in Euro2000 would create fresh interest but, so far, there have been no major offers from foreign clubs.

As for rumours in the papers of players coming to Spurs, Pleat says the club has made no move for anyone playing in Euro2000.
