Jonathan Blondel completed a full shift at Barnet's Underhill Stadium on his comeback from a broken finger.
John Jackson's second half performance in central midfield was also noteworthy on a night most in white will want to forget as Arsenal's high-profile stars shone brightly.
The first half started as a fairly evenly as Blondel buzzed around and Dalmat showed some nice touches but Arsenal were presented with the crucial opening goal after 11 minutes.
Keeper Graham Stack cleared his lines, Paul O'Donoghue's clearing header hit Jeremie Aliadiere and the striker drilled home in a flash from the edge of the area.
It was soon 2-0 as Dennis Bergkamp picked out a crossfield pass to Justin Hoyte, he laid the ball into Aliadiere who made no mistake one-on-one.
The key moment came after 40 minutes. Blondel magnificently pulled Dean Marney's long ball out of the sky and hit an instant low cross that offered a tap-in to Jamie Slabber but the striker failed to make decent contact and the chance was gone.
Within a minute it was 3-0 as Edu finished with minimum fuss from close range from Hoyte's cross.
Colin Calderwood introduced Mark Yeates and Marcel McKie at the break but the Gunners increased their lead within three minutes as a loose ball fell to Jerome Thomas in the box, he skipped around Eyre and shot high into the roof of the net.
The impish Yeates, back from injury, soon got involved to smash a vicious drive that Stack could only beat away.
Eyre found Bergkamp's shot too hot to handle on the hour but the young keeper, making his first competitive start at this level, was up quickly to bravely block Thomas' follow up. Marney then made up 10 yards on Parlour to get in a goal-saving tackle as the former England man pulled the trigger.
The final quarter passed with little incident, Dalmat was replaced by Jon Black and Edu lobbed just over with three minutes left.
