Spurs make the grade

Posted on 30 July 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

More than 100 pupils from local schools graduated from Tottenham Hotspur Study Support Centre this term.

First team squad member Chris Perry was on hand to congratulate the attendees at the ceremony here at White Hart Lane.

The second set of pupils to complete the 10 week course came from schools including Down Lane Junior, Woodlands Park Junior, The Green CE Primary, Coleraine Park Primary, Northumberland Park Community, Gladesmore Community, White Hart Lane, and Hornsey School for Girls.

Graduates were awarded certificates for their participation in the course, which aims to improve literacy and Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills in the students.

Special certificates were given to certain students, who performed over and above the expected level, and included awards for outstanding achievements, best power point quiz, and most improved student.

As a gift for graduating, drinks manufacturer Lucozade generously gave each pupil a goodie-bag and paid for every attendee to become Junior Spurs Members for the year.
