Two of our greatest players - Jimmy Greaves and Dave Mackay - have been selected as part of the Royal Mail's 'Football Heroes' stamp issue.

The collection marks the 150th anniversary of the establishing of the rules of Association Football, with a stamp issue celebrating 11 of the greatest football heroes from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

England great Jimmy remains our all-time top goalscorer with a staggering 266 goals for us in 379 appearances. He won the FA Cup with us in 1962 and 1967 and scored twice in the final as we made history by becoming the first British team to win a European trophy in 1963.

Scotland international Dave is seen by many as our greatest-ever signing. Joining us in 1959, he was the heartbeat of Bill Nicholson's double-winning side in 1960-61 and in 318 appearances, he went on to win the FA Cup in 1962, was injured for our European triumph in 1963 and then lifted the FA Cup as skipper at Wembley in 1967.

The stamps feature the 11 heroes in their home nation strip – John Barnes (England); Gordon Banks (England); George Best (Northern Ireland); John Charles (Wales); Bobby Charlton (England); Jimmy Greaves (England); Kevin Keegan (England); Denis Law (Scotland); Dave Mackay (Scotland); Bobby Moore (England); Bryan Robson (England).

The stamps are available at www.royalmail.com/footballheroes, by phone on 08457 641 641, and in 9000 Post Offices across the UK.
