After a string of impressive cup wins, Tottenham Hotspur Ladies returned their focus back to the FA Women’s Premier League against the only team who had denied them all three points this campaign, C&K Basildon, who held the Lilywhites to a 1-1 draw last month. That result wasn’t to be repeated following a dominant 4-0 away victory at The Frost Financial Stadium.
Spurs started brightly. Wendy Martin's header from Sophie Mclean's cross forced a fine fingertip save from Nikita Runnacles and Martin flicked Riana Soobadoo's pass into the path of Ronnell Humes, but her strike looking for the bottom corner couldn’t find the target.
Spurs opened the scoring after half an hour, Martin slipped a pass through the centre for Humes to latch onto and flick the ball past the advancing Runnacles. Nine minutes later, the momentum was in full swing. Hector’s delightful pass forward was collected by Bianca Baptiste who cut inside from the inside-right channel finding Martin to side-foot home.

It was very nearly three on the next attack, Humes played inside to Soobadoo whose curling cross to the far-post was met by Baptiste who headed over the upright.
The second period started in the same manner, Humes’ free-kick dipped kindly in the 18-yard box to Lucia Leon who volleyed over from a tight angle.
Humes was denied by Hannah Porter's clearance off the line after another Soobadoo assist and the third arrived on 63 minutes when Martin found Baptiste on the edge of the area to zip a low strike inside the near-post.
The hosts looked for a way back into the game after Sara Sinclair collected the ball from six-yards, however Hector and Jenna Schillaci made sure a clean sheet was kept intact with determined defending.
A fourth arrived 12 minutes from time, Martin’s curled strike was pushed out to Soobadoo whose flick to Cheryl Williams was finished emphatically inside the area.
As relentless pressure continued, Kelley Blanchflower broke down the right looking for Martin who came within a whisker of connecting for a prodded finish.
