Spurs celebrate with Haringey

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

On Thursday 18 November Haringey Council’s Looked After Children (LAC) event congratulated the efforts of over one hundred young people aged between 11 and 18.

The awards recognised the diverse range of achievement the borough’s children and young people in care have accomplished including education, sport, art, and personal progress, including community and volunteer work.

Nominees travelled from all around the country to celebrate at the event. Sharmaine, is a 16-year-old whose foster family watched proudly as she received her award for her outstanding GCSE results. She sat ten GCSEs altogether and received 2 A*s, 4 As and 4 Bs. Sharmaine is pictured with Spurs defender Erik Edman who came along on the night to congratulate all the children involved.

The awards were held in partnership with the Club and many of the children had visited the Lane earlier in the year for coaching in the Indoor facility with our community coaches. The club was very pleased to welcome the children back to celebrate their achievements, and look forward to continuing the partnership with Haringey Council.
