Spurs Canada welcomes Paul Stalteri

Posted on 25 June 2007  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Spurs Canada, our officially-designated supporters club in that part of the world, are presenting "An Evening With Paul Stalteri" on Thursday,

June 28, starting at 7pm.Proceedings will be hosted by Gerry Dobson, a very familiar face to all Canadians as the main presenter of Premiership games on Sportsnet over the past several years.

This event will be held on the main floor of Scallywags, their Toronto home base, located at 11 St. Clair Avenue West. As well as the opportunity to meet Paul and ask him questions, there will be lots of exclusive prize draws, autograph signing and other entertainment on the night.

Fresh from his recent success as captain of Canada at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where they were eliminated at the semi-final stage, Paul said: "It is an honour to be invited by Spurs Canada to spend an evening with them. This is a wonderful opportunity to thank some of my fans for their continued support."

Newly-installed President of Spurs Canada, Martin Wills, added: "As you can imagine, it's not very often we get to see someone connected with Tottenham Hotspur here on our doorstep! Paul has been our club's Honorary Chairman ever since he signed for us two years ago, so this will be a great chance for our members to meet him in person. We're still a relatively young organisation, but already closing in on some of the more established supporters clubs in Canada. Building on Spurs' 2006/2007 season, we see a massive opportunity for further growth, particularly in cities outside of Toronto."

Anyone in the area is more than welcome to join them at Scallywags. Entry is $10 at the door, which includes automatic entry into the 50/50 and other prize draws. However, it is free to all current Spurs Canada members, or by signing up for the 2007/2008 season on the night, for which there will also be a special early-bird price. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

If you live anywhere in Canada, or will be traveling there at any time, please visit http://www.spurscanada.ca for more information about the club.
