Having trained in the city for the first time on Monday, it was quickly back to business this morning as the preparations continued for Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Colchester United and the subsequent Premier League double-header against Norwich City and Watford.

With team-bonding also a key aspect of the trip, the players have had some opportunities to go sightseeing in Barcelona over the last couple of days and Ben Davies says everyone has found the experience thoroughly refreshing.

“It’s a great city and it’s nice to change it up now and again,” said the left-back on Monday. “We’ve had a good time so far – we’ve been out and been able to see the city, so it’s been great.

“It’s nice to have a little refresher, but we know the importance of this week. We’ve got an FA Cup game at the weekend, it’s a good opportunity to win and then we’ve got some vital games coming up where we’ve got to look to pick up the points, so the training doesn’t let up at all.”
