Spurs around the world

No less than 13 of our players are representing their countries in international action this week.

And it's a particularly big week for Robbie Keane and Michael Dawson.

‘Keano' is on the verge of winning his 100th cap for the Republic of Ireland as they prepare to face Argentina in a friendly at the brand new Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Wednesday.

On Sunday evening, the striker was awarded Senior International Player of the Year at the FAI International Football Awards.

He also scooped the award for International Goal of the Year for his World Cup Play-Off strike against France in Paris last November.

‘Daws', meanwhile, will be hoping to finally win his first senior cap for England in the friendly with Hungary at Wembley on Wednesday.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Sebastien Bassong and Giovani Dos Santos all return to international action for the first time since the World Cup this week.

Cameroon pair Benoit and Seb face Poland in Szczecin while Giovani Dos Santos is back in Mexico for a corker of a clash with new World Champions Spain on Wednesday.

Our Croatian trio - Vedran Corluka, Niko Kranjcar and Luka Modric - gear up for the up-coming European Championship qualifying campaign with a trip to Slovakia, along with Gareth Bale, who faces Luxembourg with Wales in Llanelli, and Roman Pavlyuchenko, who faces Bulgaria with Russia in St Petersburg.

And there is now a new face to our international round-ups! Sandro, soon set to arrive at the Lane from Internacional, is back in the Brazil senior squad for their friendly with the USA in New York tonight.

Also on Tuesday, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are in action for England U21 in a friendly with their Uzbekistan counterparts at Ashton Gate, Bristol.
