Tottenham Hotspur head to the City of Manchester Stadium in need of some big-game inspiration.
City are undoubtedly in pole position to seal their first visit to the Champions League, but if they are to be denied, Spurs must start by winning at odds of 14/5 on Tuesday night.
The fact City are 9/10 illustrates the lack of faith in the visitors but they are still capable of adding another twist before the season is out, especially when you consider they have won this fixture six times in the last seven meetings in Manchester.
Ordinarily the 11/5 draw might be considered a decent return against the big-spenders, but it would be all but fatal for a return trip to Europe’s top table, so surely we can expect a rip-roaring approach from Harry Redknapp’s men.
Over 2.5 Goals is 10/11 if you see it turning into a goalfest, with Under 2.5 available at 4/5 if you foresee a more cagey affair. You can back Spurs +1 goal at 3/4 if you want to play things safe or else take 7/4 for them in the Draw No Bet market.
Goalscorers have hardly come to the fore of late but Jermain Defoe hit the net at the weekend and is 13/5 to repeat the trick, while the likes of Rafael Van der Vaart (8/1 first goal) and Aaron Lennon (80/1 first goal in 1-1 draw) will have to step up if the three points is to be won.
Meanwhile, the Sportingbet Spurs Zone has delivered some great prizes this season and if you want to play at White Hart Lane in our 2010/11 finale – now is the time to act!
The deadline for entries is 12.00 Midday on May 10th so there’s no time to waste if you want to take on Sportingbet’s staff team on May 24th. Good luck!
