Goran Bunjevcevic described his first senior goal for the club against Oldham as 'something special'.
The Serbian is now in his fourth season at the Lane and was handed his first start of the season in the Carling Cup second round tie at Boundary Park. He pounced on an error by home keeper Craig Mawson on 87 minutes and steered the ball into the net to make it 4-0.
Goran points out that it is not his first goal at any level for the club, but agrees it was his first proper one.
"I scored for the ressies about two weeks ago, but it is my first real goal and it is something special for me," said the player who featured at left back on the night.
"I haven't played for a while, I played in the pre-season games and have waited for my chance. My chance came here, I played and we won.
"It is a very, very strong team at the moment and everyone is waiting for their chance. We have to play as well as we can then the Head Coach can choose.
"I've had many chances to score before, especially when I was playing in midfield. This was good because it was a cup game and it was important for me to do something, also with my passing and positioning.
"It is something I can take on to the future."
