It does not mean that a player, good as he may be, is a good refeere or coach. He may be good at playing football but as long as refeeres are humans they are always prone to errors. Why always blame the referee and not the play football to win and not sulking about diving. Ginola was a good diver, but as long as he played with us he was good and doing his job, but when a rival player dives he is not playing fair etc. etc. I think that we should be playing football the way they used to play it in Pele time, they gave thier hearts to the team and the game not money and fame.
Paul Mason: Yes it's a great idea because the future referees would be able to share the same feelings as the players - they've probably been in the same situation themsleves.
Danny Paxton: I don't think this is a good idea because, for example, if Ian Wright became a ref and he was refereeing a Spurs vs Arsenal match, who do you think he'd give the upper hand to?
Dan Vigar: Ex-players may be a good idea but I bet the majourity don't know the full and correct rules as a player, let alone a ref.
