Sound Offs: On Keane

Posted on 17 September 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Ramsey: I think that Keane is the best signing of the summer alongside Redknapp, and now we have a very good chance to challenge for the title and the other two cups.

Martin Beach: Hoddle has to give Rebvov a chance. He can do no worse than the Team who have not played exactly well, but with Keane and a bit of confidence, who knows maybe he will get hid old form back.

Mark Selley: I feel Robbie Keane is a great signing and a bargain. I hope this time we will have the right striking partner for Sheringham and that the partnership helps us to earn an European place or higher.

Daniel Perry: Its a great signing, but where is he going to fit in? I can't see a Sheri/Keane partnership working. But I can't imagine Hoddle dropping Teddy. Also Big Les is a valuable member of the team. Perhaps he'll play all three, but I doubt it.

Ed Holland: What a signing. Now hopefully we will prove those Spurs doubters we can near the top longer than 4 games. I also think Glenn should play Sergei, in my opinion he has never been given a chance to play. What on earth is an ex dynamo kiev and ukraine striker doing on the bench every match! It doesn't make any sense. Keano up front and rotate Teddy and Sergei. What a strike force!

Paul Hitch: With the addition of Keano up front, we should now be able to push for 5th place that has eluded us for some time now. Hopefully we can have a superb season, but let's not all get too cocky. It would be nice to see a couple of more additions when the winter Transfer window opens in Jan. I would like to see Jamie Redknapp reunited with his old Liverpool pal Steve McManaman, as a replacement for Dazza if he goes to Leeds. But, all in all, thanks for a great start to the season and long may it continue.

Mick Warner: I believe that Robbie is definitely a step in the right direction. I wonder if Glenn will introduce an additional world-class striker in January.

Will Hobson: The signing of Robbie Keane is the best since Jurgen Klinsmann and he can score 25 goals a season which is what we have been missing - We ain't going to win the league but i don't think winning a cup and qualifying for europe is out of the question !! Up The Spurs !

Richard Tweed: I think Robbie Keane is one of the best signings we have made in recent years. He has an eye for goal and hopefully he will settle down at Spurs and be performing well, scoring 20-30 goals a season. He is also still only 22 and has many years ahead of him so with Keane leading the attack there could well be Silverware back at the Lane in the near future!! The only minor problem is that Sir Les or Teddy may lose their regular place in the first team.

Joel Chua: He is a great signing. Maybe he could a good signing like jurgen klinsmann. GOAL GOAL. I will think that if we could keep to the play in the formation and stlye. I guess the strikefore will be Ted & Keane.
