Also support for Teddy and Sully.
Chris Spitiolotis, Birmingham: Teddy Sheringham or a hard man in midfield (a Roy Keane character)for the captaincy at Spurs.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Garland Pickard, Sidmouth: Without a doubt the new Captain should be Stephen Carr who would lead by example, and is not on the sick very often.
Bob Marshall, Upper Clapton: In normal circumstances, Sherwood would probably be captain, but given his poor showing last term, and the unreliability of Anderton, how about either Poyet or Sheringham? They both have the experience and the credibility.
Mr Sven: Stephen Carr, no question about it.
Mark Brown, Romford: Tim Sherwood is a good club player and Teddy has strong nostalgic links with Spurs, but there can be only one player who can lead by example, show passion & commitment whoever the opposition and ALWAYS wears the shirt with pride......... THEY GIVE 100% IN EACH AND EVERY GAME AND REPRESENT EVERYTHING GREAT ABOUT SPURS. Sullivan has won countless games for us, Carr never forgets his defensive duties while surging forward and scores our best goals like the 1 against Manchester.
Matt Ghost, Reading: I think the captain of Spurs has to be known by most of the players. He has to respect and experience. I believe the captain's armband should go to either Teddy Sheringham or Darren Anderton.
Kudre Haan, Copenhagen: Good old "Teddy-bear" is the man for the job. He has a lot of routine from hundreds of games in the Premiership and international experience as well. Like many other Spurs fans I was sorry to see Sheringham go to our rivals from Old Trafford, but now he is back - which proves that his heart is white - just like The Lane. As Vice-captain I'd like to see Neil Sullivan. He is an experienced player - and he did so well this season that a lot of respect must surround him among his fellow team-mates. I don't think Sherwood is solid enough to be our skipper. Actually I think he will have to work extremely hard just to get a place among the best 11. We've just bought two new strong midfielders, and all of the young boys will do their very best to keep Sherwood - and Freund - out of the starting line up.
Ron Miller, Kidbrooke: I think that we have four very good contenders to be our new captain. Sheringham who is without doubt one of the best readers of the game in the Premiership. Stephen Carr who is fast becoming the best right wing back in the country if he isn't that already. Steffen Freund who gives his all and will not be intimidated and finally Tim Sherwood who I think would make a very good captain. Having to choose between those four must be a managers’ nightmare, I'm sure who ever Glenn picks it will be an inspired choice. However if it were left to me I would have to go with Sheringham for his sheer ability to read the game. Should he ever be injured then I would have no qualms whatsoever as to make Steve Carr his deputy.
