Sound Offs: Fully fit teams 5

Posted on 23 October 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Charlie Stopps: Sully, Deano, King and Bunje at the back with Doc and Perry deputising. Carr and Ziege as wing backs, Sherwood, Gus and Dazza in midfield and Teddy and Rebrov up front. Davies, Les, and Taricco could be other possibilities and Freund should be on the bench ready to bolster the defence if needed.

Keng Chuan Teo: 3-5-2 with Sulli in goal (no contest), Dean, King & Bunjy in the backline.
Carr and Ziege right & left wingbacks respectively. In the centre, Anderton, Poyet & Davies. In front, Teddy (again no question) and I must say, give Rebrov a run to prove his worth. He deserves at least that much.

Matt Dean: Sullivan; Carr, Ziege, Bunjevcevic, Richards, King; Anderton, Poyet, Leo; Sheringham, Ferdinand.

Matt Saunders: Sullivan, Carr, Ziege, Bungy, King, Richards, Anderton, Davies, Poyet, Sheringham & Rebrov.

Jonathan Cooper: Sullivan, Carr, Richards, King, Bunje, Ziege, Anderton, Davies, Poyet,

James Dunn: Sully in goal, wing backs would be Carr and Ziege. Centre Backs would be Deano, Doherty and Bunji. Just in front of them would be 'Deadley' Ledley with Anderton and Gus making up the Midfield. Up front would be Super Ted and Rebrov who has to get his chance. With the likes of Davies to come on, a quality team I feel.

Llyr Roberts: Sullivan in goal with three central defenders - Richards, Bunjy and King. As wing backs I would place Ziege on the left and Carr on the right. These players add pace and quality passing. Three midfielders would be Poyet, Anderton and Freund (a solid tackler). Although I would like to see Davies gaining experience and possibly replacing Anderton from time to time. He is also an attacking option that can replace Freund. Strikers would have to be Sheringham and Rebrov. Rebrov would have to be more of an out and out striker. In games when height and strength is needed Iversen and Ferdinand are good options. Key to success is the squad system and being able to change tactics when needed.

Glenn Waters: 5,3,2 Sullivan, Richards, Doherty, King, Ziege, Carr, Davies, Anderton, Poyet, Sheringham, Ferdinand.

Martin Back: Sullivan, Bunje, King, Richards, Carr, Ziege, Poyet, Anderton - Iversen, Teddy and Rebrov on top.

Mark Lloyd: Sullivan, Doherty, Richards, King, Carr, Ziege, Poyet, Anderton, Davies, Rebrov
and Teddy - the system that works best which has been shown and proven, 3-5-2.

Fergus Elworthy: Sully, Richards, King, Bunje, Carr, Anderton, Poyet, Ziege, Sheringham, Rebrov, Ferdinand.

Ron Baber: Sully, Ledley, Deano, Bunji/Gardner (Bunji needs to prove himself, Gardner needs experience), "Shooooottt!" Carr, Zeige, Gus, Simon (young legs bags of enthusiasm, quick, defenders hate him!), Sharon (for 70 mins), Ted,Sergei (once we know what we want him to do!). Subs: A keeper, Perry, Les, Tim/Stef (if we need a clogger), Matty (for a bit of flair).
