Heung-Min Son relished his first goal in the FA Cup.

And the South Korean star knew his crucial first half strike in the third round replay at Leicester was in as soon as it left his right foot.

The replay followed the pattern of our recent matches in the FA Cup and Premier League – but this time our dominance was rewarded when Sonny let fly on 39 minutes.

Played in by Tom Carroll’s fine first-time pass, Sonny shifted right of defender Ben Chilwell before pinging into the top corner from 18 yards.

Sonny followed up with a defence-splitting pass for Nacer Chadli to make it 2-0 and it was no surprise to see our fans name him Man of the Match.

“It was a great feeling,” said Sonny. “Tom played a great pass to me, I had a one versus one with the left-back, I went with my strong foot, my right foot, shot and the shot was very good, I could feel it.

“It was a big game for us and a 2-0 win was very important.

“As a team we were very good in the game, every player. We wanted to win and I’m very happy to score. It was a great performance.”
